East Coast Kitchen Party
If you've ever been on a "Pub Crawl" in Halifax or been to a "Kitchen Party" on the East Coast, then you know exactly what to expect EVERY FRIDAY at the Corktown Pub in Hamilton and EVERY SATURDAY at Pub Fiction in Ancaster. Typically performing as a 3 piece, the band delivers a traditional acoustic style experience with three part harmonies, bad jokes and Sociables. Instrumentation can include fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bodhran, and penny whistle.
The atmosphere is warm, fun and lively as the boys dig into a barrage of East Coast classics by Great Big Sea, The Pogues and Van Morrison. The upbeat east coast sound also lends itself well to bluegrass style tunes such as Wagon Wheel or Fox On The Run, and is at home with traditional Irish favorites like Black Velvet Band or Fields of Athenry.
This is a party band that's all about good times with good people. You can smell the salt air with every tale told of life by the sea, with songs such as Sonny's Dream, Ordinary Day or the foot stomping, hand clapping classic, Excursion Around The Bay, done in acapella. It's never a surprise to see the dance floor come to life when the crowd hears the band launch into The Night That Patty Murphy Died or Home For A Rest.
